on forgetting
memory is not storage.
memory is reconstruction.
every time you remember something,
you're not accessing a file.
you're writing a new one.
"we are not our memories. we are our stories about our memories."
[[ form ]]epistemological fragment
[[ state ]]4am, unable to sleep
[[ mood ]]lucid confusion
what if forgetting is a form of kindness?
what if the mind protects us
by letting go?
i used to fear forgetting.
now i see it as an editor,
shaping the rough footage of a life
into something worth watching.
